Description:

 The Skilled Worker visa enables individuals from outside the UK to work in a skilled job within the UK. It is for those who have received a job offer from a UK employer holding a valid Sponsor Licence.

Application Procedure

  1. Secure a Job Offer:
    • Obtain a job offer from a licensed UK employer.
    • Ensure the job meets the required skill level and salary threshold.
  2. Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS):
    • Your employer provides you with a CoS.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Skill Level:
    • The job must be at RQF level 3 or above (equivalent to A-level qualifications).
  2. Salary:
    • The minimum salary is more than £38,700 per year or the "going rate" for the job.
    • Transitional arrangements apply for existing visa holders, with a minimum salary of £29,000 or the going rate, whichever is higher​.
    • For new entrants (such as those under 26 years old or recent graduates), the minimum salary is £30,960 or 70% of the going rate.
  3. English Language:
    • Pass an approved English language test or have a qualification taught in English.
  4. Financial Requirements:
    • Show proof of funds (£1,270) to support yourself unless you are exempt.

  • CoS Reference Number: Provided by your employer.
  • English Language Test Results: As evidence of meeting language requirements.
  • Financial Evidence: Bank statements showing sufficient funds.
  • Personal Documents: Passport and other identification documents.

Application Submission

  1. Complete the Online Visa Application Form:
    • Submit your application online.
  2. Pay the Application Fee:
    • Pay the application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).

Biometric Information

  • Provide fingerprints and a photo at a visa application center as part of the application process.
